Signup Process

Choose your username

Select a unique username for your SipherMail address (e.g., yourname@siphermail.com). Usernames must be 3-30 characters and can contain letters, numbers, and hyphens.

Create a strong password

Use a strong, unique password. We recommend at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. Your password is never stored in plain text.

Verify your email (optional)

Optionally verify a recovery email address. This helps with account recovery if you forget your password.

Set up two-factor authentication

We strongly recommend enabling 2FA for additional security. You can set this up during signup or later in Settings → Security. See our Two-Factor Auth guide for detailed instructions.

Password Requirements
  • Minimum 8 characters (we recommend 12+)
  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • At least one number
  • At least one special character (!@#$%^&*)
Security Best Practices

• Use a unique password that you don't use elsewhere

• Enable two-factor authentication immediately after signup

• Keep your recovery email address up to date

• Review your account security settings regularly
